Failsafe proven on the vehicle

The dry-fire on the flight article: both heartbeats cut, countdown expires, thrusters cut, burn wires fire into a test load, strobe on, Iridium position away. No READY, no dive.

    The most important test on the bench: prove the sub saves itself before it can ever be underwater. Do this DRY — no water, with the thruster disconnected or out of the tub.

    Steps

    1. Burn-wire driver into a TEST LOAD. Wire the burn-wire output to a dummy resistive load — never the real release, and never skin — so you can watch it fire safely.
    2. Cut the Jetson heartbeat. The supervisor should detect the loss and run its FIRE path: energize the burn-wire driver (your test load shows current), trigger the strobe, and push an Iridium position message.
    3. Cut the Pixhawk heartbeat and confirm the same failsafe response.
    4. Restore the heartbeats, reboot, and confirm the boot self-test passes and all three brains (Pixhawk, Jetson, supervisor) heartbeat healthy.

    Done when

    The failsafe fires correctly on demand for each lost heartbeat, and the system comes up clean afterward. That is the bench bot READY — the gate before the hull ever goes wet.
